Sweet Winter

Ah! sweet winter,
here you come,
to take away old summer’s glum.

Ah! sweet winter,
lay your whites,
all around, lows and heights.

Ah! sweet winter,
trees stand barren,
accepting their present,
holding together seeds of passion.
Ah! sweet winter.

  2. Gosh Vandana I wish I liked winter the way this portrays. Maybe once I'm working from home I'll enjoy it more not having to travel in it daily ... great poem xox

  6. Ah! Sweet poem esoecially as winter means something different wherever we live. Australia's winter means the rain will come hopefully! However it did this year and now it is spring!

  8. Sorry winter is cold. Cold means no swimming, running about in shorts without shoes no cicadas, no mangoes, no frangipani,no cherries and apricots ...Sumer is a cumen in....and it cannot come too soon.

  9. By the end of this brutally hot summer, we are welcoming fall and winter very much. I long for rain to put out the wildfires.

  10. I feel my winter is less sweet... more like a monster with fangs... but I can understand if it's relief from heat.

Nice to hear from you again, Vandana. There are few of us OSI folk around here. Helps make it like old times.

  18. Winter can be like a clean, glistening fresh coat - until it gets all dirty and stomped upon. One reason I like living in the mountains of NC - it lasts usually a few days - white and beautiful and then melts away... :)
